Major wars
The Battle of Monte de las Cruces: In October 30th 1810 a large army led by Father Miguel Hidalgo and Ignacio Allende made its way towards Mexico City. The army was almost an angry mob of Mexicans. They were angry because they were abused for years by the Spanish. The battle went on all day with anger and rage. The angry mob beat Trujillo and his small but well trained force.
Another Major battle was the battle of Calderon Bridge is a battle about independence. Most independence fighters were poor peasants and Indians that were armed with axes, machetes, knives and clubs. Hidalgo and Allende led an army, along with fellow conspirators Juan Aldana, Mariano Jiménez and Mariano Abasolo. Allende set the rebel defenses. He deployed around the bridge, with some reserves left behind. Calleja attacked the fortified rebels on January 17, 1811, without waiting for back up as he had agreed to in his meetings with his fellow officers.
